If you are covered by the Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal Employee Program (FEP), your plan may cover medical detox at Allure Detox in West Palm Beach, Florida. FEP is a nationwide plan, so your coverage works the same here as it does at home. Our admissions team can verify your benefits by phone and explain what your option covers before you make any decisions.
About the BCBS Federal Employee Program
FEP, often called BCBS Federal or the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Service Benefit Plan, has been part of the Federal Employees Health Benefits program since 1960 and is the largest plan in it. It covers federal employees, retirees, and their eligible family members, with benefits set in partnership with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
FEP offers three options:
- FEP Blue Standard covers both Preferred and Non-preferred providers, with lower costs for Preferred.
- FEP Blue Basic covers Preferred providers only, except in emergencies.
- FEP Blue Focus is the lower-premium option and also covers Preferred providers only, except in emergencies.
“Preferred” means the local Blue Cross Blue Shield plan’s PPO network in whatever state you are in. In Florida, that is the Florida Blue network, and Allure Detox contracts with Florida Blue. That is how FEP members from anywhere in the country can use their coverage at Allure.
How FEP Coverage Works for Detox
Is detox covered?
All three FEP options cover medically necessary mental health and substance use treatment, including medically supervised detox, residential treatment, medication-assisted treatment, and individual and group therapy.
Is authorization required?
FEP requires precertification for inpatient admissions, including detox and residential treatment, and reviews continued stays for medical necessity. Our admissions team submits the request and our clinical team provides the documentation. You do not have to manage it.
What will I pay?
Your cost depends on your option. Each has its own deductible, copays or coinsurance, and an annual out-of-pocket maximum, after which covered services are paid in full for the rest of the year. We go over the expected costs with you before admission so there are no surprises.
Medical Detox at Allure
Every client is assessed on arrival and given an individualized plan for managing withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants, or other substances. Medications are used where appropriate to ease symptoms and reduce the risk of complications, and clients are monitored around the clock by a team that specializes in addiction medicine. Detox is the first step, and before you leave we help plan what comes next, whether that is residential treatment at Allure or a program closer to home, so there is no gap in care.
Verify Your FEP Coverage
Call our admissions team with the information on your FEP card. We confirm which option you have, verify your benefits, request precertification, and explain your costs. The insurance verification is free and confidential, and it usually takes a few minutes.
