NYSHIP is the health benefits program for New York State employees and retirees, along with many local government and school district employees across the state. Most members are enrolled in The Empire Plan, which is NYSHIP’s primary plan. Some members are enrolled in one of the NYSHIP-approved HMO options instead. Can I Use NYSHIP for Treatment in Florida?
In many cases, yes. The Empire Plan has a nationwide provider network, which allows members to receive addiction treatment outside New York. NYSHIP HMO plans generally limit non-emergency care to their own service area, so if you are enrolled in an HMO we will need to review your plan details with you.

Inpatient detox and residential treatment usually require prior authorization through your plan’s behavioral health program. Our admissions team contacts your plan, submits the clinical information, and keeps you updated on the approval so there are no surprises on admission day.
What will I pay?
Your cost depends on your plan, your deductible, and whether Allure is in network for you. Possible costs include copays, coinsurance, and any remaining deductible, all of which count toward your plan’s annual out-of-pocket maximum. We go over the expected costs with you before admission.
How long will coverage last?
Coverage is based on medical necessity rather than a fixed number of days. Our clinical team provides updates to your plan during your stay and requests continued authorization when treatment is still needed.

Symptoms are treated with medication-assisted treatment where appropriate, under 24-hour medical supervision, with individual and group therapy throughout your stay.
