Medical Detox

The first priority of a detox is to help patients stop using drugs and alcohol safely. But Allure’s Medical detox offers more: a renewed love of life.

There’s More to a Good Detox Than Safety

The first requirement of a detox center is that it protect the health and safety of its patients.  This is the least that substance abusers and their families should expect from a decent facility.  Without these protections in place, the detox doesn’t serve a purpose in the recovery process.  Patient safety should be an ironclad guarantee.

But Allure Detox provides much more than the bare minimum.  Of course we help clients stop using safely – that’s just a given.  Almost as important as that, though, is that we offer clients the foundation for a lifetime of relief and recovery.  That’s the Allure Detox promise: that patients leave our care with more than good health at their disposal.

How Our Medical Detox Works

The simple fact that we detox patients on a medical basis allows us to give patients more than safety. Clients continue to live in a home-like setting with family support during medical detox at Allure.  This continued participation allows clients to learn and resume their lives, even as the substance leaves their system.

Our detox plans are highly individualized.  Designed with clients’ help and input, they cater to their specific needs.  Because our programs are tailor-made, it’s difficult to say in advance what they will entail for each individual.  But we can provide a general overview of the process.

Medical detox begins with an in-depth health exam and an addiction assessment.  Then, our care team works with the individual to devise a plan.  Prior to departing the facility, patients receive detailed instructions on how to manage the process at home.  When they do leave, they take their detox drugs home with them.

Patients return to the facility frequently, at least once a week.  We monitor their health carefully, looking for signs of danger or a return of symptoms.  The detox drugs are gradually decreased until the patient’s system is completely free of harmful substances.  Depending on their needs, patients may continue to take prescription maintenance drugs that optimize their chance of recovery.  And perhaps most importantly, patients have constant access to our care during the entire process, even when they’re at work or home.

Why Medical Detox

Patients choose medical detox because it allows them to continue participating in their former lives. This aids the healing process of recovery and teaches the value of living without drugs and alcohol. And it has been statistically proven that a longer detox period is more likely to lead to long-term recovery than a shorter period.

For these reasons and many more, patients choose the expert, compassionate care of Allure Detox. We look forward to working with you and your family to get your lives back on track.
